The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Big Octos

Note: Check out our Sea Chart to help identifying the locations of the Big Octos.

The Big Octos
There are six Big Octos in total, and they are all hidden throughout the seas of hyrule. Most of the Big Octos will drop 100 rupees or a heart piece, but one of them also leads to the freeing of a great fairy who will reward you with a significantly increased magic meter!

Defeating the Big Octos
Each Big Octo carries the same strategy: aim your boomerang (or arrows) at it's eyes and use your weapon to hurt it's eyes. The boomerang is more reliable since you have auto-targeting, and you can target more than one eye at once, the only advantage of the bow is that it always takes out an eye in one hit. Whatever weapon you use, don't be too slow otherwise you will eventually be sucked in by the Big Octo's whirlpool!

Locations:
The Big Octos are located as follows. The method to finding each Big Octo is the same: you need to sail around the area looking for a group of flying seagulls (you may want to have a look around with your telescope). Once you see them, sail right up to them and the Big Octo will appear.
