The Legend of Zelda Fan Creations

The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time Movie
The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time is an independant, feature-length film made purely by Zelda fans - there has been no involvement from Nintendo officials at all. The story is loosely based off Ocarina of Time. After a lengthly development process, the film was released on 19th December, 2009 for viewing. However, Nintendo swiflty interjected and forbid the producers to show or distribute the film after Christmas. Commenting, the Producers said: 'We understand Nintendo’s right to protect its characters and trademarks and understand how in order to keep their property unspoiled by fan’s interpretation of the franchise, Nintendo needs to protect itself — even from fan-works with good intentions.'

ZREO - Zelda Reorchestrated
ZREO is a musical project which aims to produce symphonic performances of the best Legend of Zelda songs. It is not an orchestra, but rather, high-end sequencer synthesizers are used to produce music, which is then processed further to produce realistic-sounding orchestrated songs. The project has proved popular within the Zelda Community. Every now and then new projects are announced, and aside from the music itself, podcasts are also produced.

Ocarina of Time 2D
One keen Zelda fan decided one day, quite a while ago now, to remake Ocarina of Time in A Link to the Past style 2D. For whatever reason, the project was discontinued. Not many are sure why, although many rumours have been put forward. It's been suggested that Nintendo intervened and forced the guy to quit, that the guy lost the code, or simply got bored, and so on. People have probably picked up the project, but evidently to no avail. A demo of the game can still be downloaded.

Zelda Motion
Zelda Motion is a project that aims to re-create the Legend of Zelda manga series (created by Akira Himekawa) into fully animated and voiced episodes. It's all non-for profit, and it's made by a group of dedicated Zelda fans. Auditions have already been held to determine the people who will voice the main characters in Zelda Motion's upcoming series, Triforce of the Gods, but perhaps more voice auditions will be held in the future. http://zeldamotion.webs.com.
